The short answer
Use one base for a first week and choose a few distinct outings. Our suggested rhythm combines local beach days with Bridgetown, the east coast and one garden or cave visit, while keeping time available for weather and personal preference.
Plan around the coast where you stay
A west-coast, south-coast or east-coast property changes the travel required for this itinerary. Mark your accommodation and priority outings before assigning the days. This is an editorial suggestion for seven nights, not a promise that every attraction or service operates in the order shown.
Choose three priorities as a group. If they are mainly swimming, meals and rest, keep the sightseeing modest. If history or gardens are central, give those visits substantial time rather than treating them as short stops on a beach circuit.
Arrival and the first full day
Use arrival for the transfer, check-in and a nearby meal. Spend the following day around your own area, learning the route to the beach and food options. Check current water conditions and facilities before making the nearest beach your routine swimming spot.
If using public transport for later outings, identify the actual stops, direction and return arrangements. If hiring a car for selected days, group the outings where it provides the most benefit instead of paying for a vehicle that remains parked during beach days.
Second full day: Bridgetown and a focused heritage visit
Choose a manageable town route and one substantial historic experience. Decide whether the Garrison belongs in the same day and plan the transfer if needed. Give lunch and shade breaks time in the schedule rather than treating the city as a collection of quick photographs.
If Carlisle Bay is a priority, consider making it another day instead of attaching a full boat excursion to the heritage programme. A short beach pause and a guided underwater outing are different commitments.

Third day: water or a local beach
Book a suitable Carlisle Bay or other boat experience only after checking the actual route, supervision and return. If the group prefers staying on land, enjoy a beach with the facilities you need. Keep the remainder of the day light, especially after a long morning in the sun.
Fourth day: the east-coast landscape
Consider Bathsheba for scenery and a meal, with Andromeda as an optional botanical visit when opening and time suit. Treat this as a different kind of coastal day, with appropriate caution around exposed water. A driver or rental can make the route more flexible, but the choice should match your comfort and budget.
Fifth day: one inland interest
Choose Harrison's Cave, Hunte's Gardens or a different activity that genuinely interests you. Verify the specific ticket, access and transfer arrangement. Avoid adding several attractions simply to fill the vehicle day; one visit enjoyed at leisure can be enough.
Food evening, final day and departure
Place Oistins on the day that matches the experience you want and its current arrangements, then organise the return. Keep the last full day flexible for a favourite beach or a moved outing. Before departure, confirm the airport transfer and any vehicle return using the airline's instructions. The week should end with room to enjoy Barbados, not a final sprint through everything left on a list.
