The short answer
Do not assume a “Caribbean” eSIM includes every island on your itinerary. Open the provider’s country list and match each destination. Check that your phone supports eSIM, is network-unlocked and works with the selected plan. Compare the data allowance and validity with what you will actually use.
One island or several?
For one island, compare a local plan with a regional plan. For several islands, compare one regional package with separate local packages. In each case, confirm the named countries and networks in the current offer. Coverage at sea and on flights is a separate question; do not assume a land-based plan includes it.
Read the activation rules
Find out when the validity period starts, whether calls and SMS are included, and whether you can share the connection with another device. Keep installation instructions available before departure. Configure your normal SIM carefully if you want to avoid using it for mobile data while abroad.
Compare Airalo with your existing options
Airalo is one provider linked from this site. Check its current destination list, compatibility guidance and final price. Also compare your existing roaming allowance or a local SIM if either meets your needs. An eSIM is an option, not a purchase every traveller needs.
