Caribbean ferries: plan one route at a time

An island-hopping trip needs confirmed connections, not a line on a map.

The short answer

Do not assume neighbouring Caribbean islands have a passenger ferry. Confirm the operator, ports, dates and passenger service before reserving accommodation around a crossing. Some routes are seasonal or weather-dependent, and a map does not tell you whether a practical connection exists.

Antigua–Barbuda: start with the operator

The former Barbuda Express website now points to Sea Bridge Ferries, which identifies its service with Antigua and Barbuda. Check its current passenger timetable and booking conditions directly. Confirm the actual departure port and arrive according to the operator’s instructions. We do not publish an unverified daily timetable or a fixed fare.

Check documents, baggage and connections

Before paying, confirm passenger document requirements, baggage rules, port fees and cancellation terms. Leave a buffer before an international flight or a separate booking. Ask what happens if the sailing changes and whether the return crossing is sold separately. Requirements can differ between routes, operators and nationalities.

About links in this guide

The operator link here is a direct information link, not a Travelpayouts ferry booking widget. We have not verified a suitable Travelpayouts ferry programme covering all the islands on this site. A new route will only be added with a named operator and a working source; ferry commissions are not assumed.
