The short answer
Start with February–June if drier weather is your priority. October–December are generally wetter. Choose your dates around your activities and total holiday cost, and keep boat trips flexible throughout the year.
Choose your travel window by priority
For a first beach holiday with flexible dates, our starting shortlist is February to June. That is a choice based on the generally drier period, not a promise of sunshine every day. If you can only travel in October, November or December, plan a flexible week rather than dismissing Curaçao altogether. Rainfall is one part of the decision; the cost of getting here and the setting of your accommodation may matter more to your particular trip.
For a sightseeing holiday, decide how much walking you want to do. Willemstad, exposed coastal viewpoints and inland trails feel very different from a shaded beach chair. Put active mornings before long lunches and leave a less demanding option for the afternoon. A person who dislikes heat should not choose a trip entirely around the chance of a cheaper room.
Heat and wind deserve their own comparison. Meteo Curaçao’s 1981–2010 Hato climate normals show September as the warmest average month, while trade winds remain present through June and July. Summer is not generally windless. These station averages describe a long-term pattern, not the conditions at every beach or on your travel dates.
Curaçao month by month
The table is a planning guide based on the tourism board's seasonal description. It deliberately avoids invented rainfall totals or precise temperature averages. Conditions vary between years and between locations on the island. Use it to shortlist months, then check the local forecast close to departure.

Best time for beaches, snorkelling and boat trips
A drier month can make a beach-focused holiday easier to arrange, but sea conditions require a separate decision. Wind, swell and the exposure of a particular bay can affect a snorkel session even when the sky is clear. Ask a local operator about the actual site and your swimming experience; a monthly weather chart cannot approve a water activity.
If Klein Curaçao is a priority, put the trip in the first half of your stay and leave another possible date. Keep your last full day available for an outing on the main island. This is especially useful when travelling with children or anyone who wants the option to change a boat day. Do not arrange your entire week around one non-movable excursion.

Can you find a cheaper month?
There is no month that is cheapest for every departure airport, room type and family. Choose three date windows with the same number of nights. Price flights with the baggage you need, the same accommodation category, transport and any compulsory charges. Record the totals together so a low airfare does not hide an expensive stay.
For example, compare seven nights in May with seven nights in June and seven nights in September. This is a comparison method, not a claim that those dates are currently discounted. School holidays and the cancellation conditions of a particular offer can change the answer. A refundable option may be worthwhile when your plans are uncertain, even when its headline price is higher.
A workable first-visit plan
Our suggested starting point is seven to ten nights with one base. Give Willemstad a dedicated morning and group western beaches into another outing. Choose one principal beach rather than trying to visit five in a day. Add a boat trip or guided underwater activity only if it suits the group, then preserve an unscheduled day.
For a family, prioritise shade, toilets, food and a manageable return journey. For a couple planning several restaurant evenings, accommodation near the places you intend to visit may be more valuable than saving a little on a remote room. Your daily route can make a greater difference to the holiday than choosing between two adjacent months.
How far ahead should you decide?
Book the parts that would be hard to replace first: the flight, suitable accommodation and any essential transport. Keep weather-sensitive activities more flexible where the provider's terms allow it. Shortly before departure, check Meteo Curaçao, airline messages and any excursion notices. A climate pattern helps choose dates; it does not replace current local advice.
