Flight help
The way your flights were booked changes the next conversation.
The short answer
Open your booking confirmation before buying another ticket. Ask whether the journey is protected as one booking or sold as separate flights. A short connection shown by a search engine does not by itself establish protection.
Give the airline both flight numbers and ask about rerouting to the final booked destination. Under applicable passenger-rights rules, the final arrival delay can matter for a connected booking. Keep the original and replacement itinerary. Confirm where your checked bag will go before leaving the transfer area.
The CAA distinguishes self-transfer bookings from protected connections: rights on each flight remain, but a delayed first flight does not create a statutory right to onward transport on the separate booking. Contact the second airline before its departure. Check any seller guarantee or insurance and its reporting deadline.
Ask whether changing or missing one segment affects later flights or your return. Check entry or transit documents for any new route. Tell your hotel and transfer provider your revised arrival, and keep all conversations together. Before accepting a refund, make sure that ending the journey is what you want.
